Installation of Buck’s Lowers for “Big Bar”

Please be aware that the air deflector panels WILL contact your Road bars at full lock, but will not interfere with low speed handling of your motorcycle.

If the panels DO offer substantial resistance to turns at full lock, correct before riding.

When installing the lowers please remember that the “Rounded” side of the stainless

steel  washers ALWAYS face the chrome !  Don’t use open ended wrenches because

they may scratch the chrome mounts.

The lowers simply attach on each side, using two bolts and four washers , to the Yamaha windshield. The holes on the windshield bracket may be plugged with plastic decorative plugs which must be removed.

The bracket mounting holes, as well as the deflector panel mounting holes, are all

“Oversized” to provide adjustment.

If you are using Road Lamps with the turn signal lights mounted under the light bar,

You MAY find that the deflector panels contact the bottoms of the turn signals.

You may need to insert some washers between the road lamp mounting bracket and the bottom of the triple tree . These washers will shim the bottom of the road light mounts forward  , which rotates the bottom of the turn signal lights forward. This is not a common problem.

There have been two cases where the Yamaha windshield mounts were almost one inch  further back then the “Stock” mounts. So far these different Yamaha mounts have been

associated with ’99 models.
